I was going to write myself about the way in which this stuff polarises you, making you want to create something as impressive as that but also making you feel it would be futile to even try. Still, I suppose many people would have started off in a similar position, and you only hone your craft through practice after all.

As for writing, I'm lucky there in that most of what I enjoy to read is awfully written! ;) I like fairly generic fantasy fiction, like Terry Brooks, Raymond E. Feist, Robert Jordan, etc., and some of it is pretty awful from a technical point of view, so I come away thinking that yes, I could probably have written that! Now I just have to find more than an hour or two a month for writing...

I'm still considering the gig. I'd really like to see Primordial again as it's probably the last show I'll get to see where they promote the latest album, but it's still a lot of time, money, and effort to arrange. And I am Mr Unmotivated!
