Today I:
- had breakfast at Costa Coffee and paid about seventeen trillion pounds for it (but it was nice enough);
- discussed practical ways of 'cheering the fuck up';
- consumed far too much food at my first experience of an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet;
- watched 2 magpies almost kill a squirrel outside my house.

More thrilling news as we have it.

But is there not a rocky bit offshore somewhere that is free of the grey ones? I remember reading of it, but for the life of me i can not remember what it is called.

I think there are quite a few isolated pockets of the red squirrels around, and they are more numerous in Scotland, but I guess you're unlikely to ever see one if you live in urban areas in England as I do. I must admit to liking watching the little grey guys scurry around outside in the trees, but I'd prefer to have the indigenous variety if it was possible.

big wok is the school canteen, Flaming dragon is the restaurant in quality stakes. You get what you pay for. Its still pretty neat stuff either way, but dont use big wok as the standard to set by.

A quick bit of reading around suggests that there are also still reds in North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cumbria, etc (ie. near Scotland). Hopefully I can spot one if I visit the North this summer.

They are here in Sweden, I regularly get screeched at when passing through the woods. Are the greys as vocal?

No, in fact I don't think I've ever heard them make a noise. Maybe they're just quiet around here, I don't know.

I think I paid £3.50 for a tuna and salad sandwich. For that price I hope that a diver went out, specifically speared that particular tuna fish himself, and checked it for any and all deficiencies before delivering it to my plate.

I find it strange that people are interested in where I went to eat. Perhaps this is because of my totally nonchalant attitude to food. I think it was Big Wok.
