2 of my housemates moved out yesterday, leaving just 2 of us in a house that used to be home to 6 people, 7 at weekends. Looking at the newly empty rooms is a bit sad really. It's a bit like someone's died... all the life stripped out of the place. With the furniture, posters, and various decorations gone, it looks like a totally different place.
I at least thought things would be quieter around here now those 2 moved out; they did tend to have very loud (and pretty dumb) arguments in the kitchen, but as if to carry on the tradition, my remaining housemate and his girlfriend had a big argument last night. But he apologized for it so that's ok.
On Saturday night I thought I'd dig out an old Iron Maiden cd, and singing along with it has left me with a sore throat that has persisted to this morning. I got myself some 'anaesthetic and anticeptic lozenges', which succeeded in numbing most of my mouth and tongue, but didn't appear to have much of an effect on my throat. Perhaps this is someone trying to tell me that I'll never be a singer.
