Shit software time
Dec. 17th, 2003 02:46 pmInstalled Winamp 5 today. It's bigger, it doesn't do anything new that I can see (despite the website proudly announcing "New Features", which it is careful not to elaborate upon), and the Media Library feature is a bitch to use and it doesn't work half the time. "Click on an item to get its info" it tells me. So I do. And nothing happens. And the top left-hand box sometimes just does nothing either. And when I clicked on the 'Now Playing' link, it says "The requested URL /browser/index.jhtml was not found on this server." And I should mention how annoying it is that it opens web links in Internet Explorer, which is not my default browser.
Got another birthday card today, just 3 days late! Oh well, beggars can't be choosers I suppose. Hand-delivered too, along with the xmas cards she also dropped off.
Return of the King is out. I suppose I should make some sort of arrangment to see it... or sneak out for a viewing before I get roped into some sort of communal atmosphere-destroying group outing. Friends are great, but they can certainly spoil a good film!
Finished Terry Brooks' "The Talismans of Shannara" last night. Nice book, albeit oddly-paced. I need more books about swords and magic and wars and all that healthy fantasy roleplaying stuff that I used to love so much.
The strange thing about this time of year is that it always looks like sunset. There's that reddish glow on the horizon pushing through the silhouettes of leaveless trees.
Ok, must stop this before I degenerate into a 14 year old poetry-writing spooky kid.
