bits and pieces
Oct. 4th, 2004 05:05 pmGood day at uni today, although I can't help but feel that the majority of this course is just a normal BSc but with the 3 years crammed into 8 months instead. No matter, the important part is the pair of projects at the end, and the prospects for going on to do a PhD. And being funded to study.
There was an amusing moment afterwards where I had to talk to our course administrator for about the 10th time recently, due to the various issues regarding enrolment, funding, getting my university account reinstated, getting proof of being enrolled, etc. I was likened to Columbo with the whole "Just one more thing..." aspect. Oh, and apparently she saw me out last Saturday night at the club when I was drunk. This is also weird as I expect any sort of 'course administrator' to be in her late 40s, wearing glasses and a florally-patterned dress, not a twenty-something New Rock boots-wearing girl who goes to Rock City on Saturdays. I guess I'm just prejudiced at heart.
While I'm on the subject of Rock City, their DJ Mike Bottomley gave me a flyer for his upcoming comedy night as I came out of the university building. Sorry Mike, but if I wanted comedy on an evening, I'd go sit through one of your abysmal DJ sets.
In other news my dental pain has almost subsided to nothing and I have finally stopped taking the codeine that was keeping me sane (and somewhat drowsy) for the duration of last week.
