all heat, no light
Jun. 21st, 2005 12:12 amIt's down to a more manageable 29°C here in my room, with it being nearer 32°C for the last couple of days. I do like the summer, but the heat retention abilities of this room aren't helping much.
On a totally different topic, have we bred a generation of internet sociopaths? People contact me on AIM or Yahoo, which is all well and good, but then they totally bypass any sort of introduction and start quizzing me on my personal details and interests. What is that about? Shouldn't they at least say how they got hold of my username and why they're talking to me? Even the ones who do end up introducing themselves to some degree are often totally inept, failing to understand that I just don't give a fuck about their friend's friends, or that their user icon is not them but is actually Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, or what Microsoft's XNA is. Whatever happened to actually getting to know someone rather than babbling drivel in their general direction, and then wondering why I don't say much in reply? Cretins. I actually like meeting new people online, I just don't like dealing with fools.
I'm hoping to go and see Paradise Lost (and Children of Bodom and Edguy) next Saturday, but it probably won't happen, due to it costing between £25 and £35, not including travel, which is going to be a problem all in itself.
