Jul. 21st, 2005 06:40 pmToday I was stood at a road crossing, next to a guy with a guide dog. A car drove past, one of the rear windows open, and another dog in the back seat staring out of that window barked twice at the guide dog as it passed. Suddenly I got a flashback of someone shouting something (presumably offensive) out of a car window at me, and I guess I had just witnessed the canine equivalent. I wonder if the guide dog was thinking "yeah, well, at least I have a proper job, you uncouth lout" or something.
Tomorrow I'm off to a party, Saturday I'm moving house - my 10th move since Sept 96, one per year - and on Sunday I go to see Sonata Arctica, Finntroll, Norther, Epica, and some other bands I don't really care much about. A report on each of these adventures shall be forthcoming.
On another musical note, I heard some of the new Opeth. It sounds like... Opeth. I used to love them but I sort of got bored. Great band though.
Three more explosions in London, apparently. These only involved detonators and so far only one person was hurt. As an LJ friend-of-friend said, "That's the trouble with suicide bombers - you get down to the real second-string dregs far too quickly." I was wondering just how much trouble like this we'd have to have before people would accept some severe restrictions on liberties. Obviously you have some people with extreme views on liberty who would never change no matter what happened, but how much of this sort of thing would it take for the majority of people to support draconian measures in the name of security?
