I wonder if all of you who are enjoying the Oblivion computer game will still be so impressed after a few weeks? People sounded like this when Morrowind came out, and Daggerfall before it, but were almost universally disappointed after the initial 'wow' factor wore off. I'll probably get it myself though, once I get a computer capable of running it at a rate that is measured in frames per second rather than seconds per frame.

Of course, I'm a bit cynical when it comes to computer games. I saw them promoting Oblivion with a video of their "Radiant AI" system, which is their marketing speak for "AI that copies what Ultima VII did in 1993". Sometimes it's difficult having been playing computer games since 1985, as it tends to raise the standard for what you expect from this sort of entertainment. Generally this is because half of the cool stuff that came out in the late 80s and early 90s died off in favour of 3D graphics advances.
