Assortment
Apr. 25th, 2006 11:13 pmYesterday on the bus home from work, I sat next to an 18 year old emo boy, and ended up chatting to him about life. Throughout the conversation, he was trying to impress upon me that he was different from everybody else, an individual. I couldn't help thinking that I know of about 20 people like him. He has a fascination with graveyards, hates labels "because we're all individuals", carries an exercise book of 'spooky' cartoons, "used to be a goth", etc. Nice guy. Just exactly what I expected.
Must order new computer parts tomorrow.
lost_in_moose has furnished me with specifications so I now just have to furnish the supplier with money. Oh, and figure out what to do with the stuff when I get it.
Was glad to hear today that
l0stxstar, one of my first LJ friends, is coming to Nottingham in the autumn. No doubt all you lovely locals on my list will give her an appropriate welcome when the time comes. :)
I hate it when people use a phrase that really means the opposite of what they intended. One common in America and getting more common over here is 'I could care less'. Today I was amused by our Defence Secretary being quoted as saying that "nobody should be under any illusion that if attacked we will defend ourselves", presumably meaning British soldiers in Afghanistan will just sit and take it!
Nice weather today! T-shirt weather, finally. About time.
And that's all I have to say for now.
