keyboard language switching

I just discovered that pressing Left-Alt and Shift switches my keyboard between UK English and US English, with nary an onscreen notification that this has happened, or how it was triggered. No doubt this is the malady that afflicted shallowthing a few weeks back. What a fucking retarded 'feature', to allow an inconsequential keypress that usually does nothing to rearrange all the punctuation on your keyboard without notifying you. Hopefully this is Windows only. I'd hate to think of the people working on Linux or the Mac, who are actually sentient, inflicting this same punishment on the unsuspecting user.
