Hurrah! Selectadisc finally had the Swallow The Sun album in, only 4 weeks after I ordered it. I also picked up Sirenia's latest release while I was there. Hopefully I'll have time to digest these before Dark Tranquillity's release (next week?), and that in turn before Paradise Lost's effort next month. Niiice.
I also went bookshelf-shopping with
_arnamentia_ last week, but Ikea didn't seem to have any that were lightweight, which is what I need when carrying them home, not to mention when moving house every year or two. They had a couple of candidates on display, but seemed to be out of stock once you got to the warehouse bit. Oh well. I'll buy some from Argos instead, as soon as I figure out how to get them up the hill to my house.
I'm also contemplating getting an TFT monitor for my computer, which I could do with for music recording, due to the CRT insisting on firing electrons at my guitar, making it hum. However, I'll probably need to keep the normal CRT for game playing, since TFT screens aren't so good when displaying at their non-native resolution, which is a little frustrating. I'm also searching for a pair of good speakers for the PC, and true to form, PC World have pretty much stopped selling good speakers, choosing instead to use the shelf space partly for Creative sound cards (there's a rant there) and Apple mp3 players (there is a rant there, also). So I'll probably order an Altec Lansing 2.1 system online, unless someone gives me a good reason to do otherwise.
