Delivery people are useless
Jan. 30th, 2009 06:54 pmWhat is this?

It's what a 'you were out when we tried to deliver' card looks like when they don't actually post it into your mailbox, but leave it outside on the street to get trodden on for five hours. It was lucky that I was expecting it because otherwise I would have walked right past the thing instead of stopping to investigate and seeing that it was actually mine.
My goods are now in Mansfield, which is a completely impractical place to collect them from, so I will have to phone them and ask them to deliver to my work place, which sometimes these companies refuse to do, but we'll see. Either way, I won't get them until Monday, which is 2 days late for what I initially wanted to use them for.
What makes this more annoying is that they were supposed to be delivered to work in the first place. I ordered online from Thomann.de and some quirk of the order form reset my billing address over the top of my delivery address. I saw this in the notification email I got, which said to contact the seller on a given email address if there were any problems with the order. This I did, a mere 7 minutes later, thinking this would certainly be swift enough to get this resolved. However, two hours later, I got an email in reply saying, "sorry, your order has already been dispatched". Why the hell ask people to contact you to fix up an order if it takes longer to read the emails than to send the order? AAAAARGH.
