One of the small benefits of being a 6'2" male in his twenties is that I'm not overly worried about walking 5 miles alone across suburban and urban Nottingham at 3 in the morning. The city at that time on a Sunday night/Monday morning is amazing. Beeston is nice in the day and even better in the dark. Even the main roads as you get into Dunkirk and Lenton are almost totally silent, and everything is incredibly serene compared to the usual noise and bustle. I think there's something very therapeutic about seeing the city almost empty except for scavenging foxes, and watching Venus rise in the Eastern night sky.
Ok, hippy stuff over. I applied for a job today and asked for an application form for another one, so that's my conscience clear for a little while. I need to start work on something productive again so my mind doesn't atrophy. I had intended to work on one tiny project a day for a while, but the last one had a few hiccups which broke my mental stride, so to speak. Still, I have a couple of ideas for the next thing to program, and I think it's about time I wrote a second programming article too. If I have 2 online, that makes me a writer! :) Maybe.
