Should I be concerned that my estate agent has failed to set up any way for me to pay the rent, and has failed to answer my email to them requesting that they tell me how to pay it? How incompetent can they be to not get a new tenant to sort out the rent! Ridiculous. I bet I get evicted next month for non-payment or something ridiculous...
Finally set up my web development test-bed on my other PC, after months of intending to do so and days of struggling with ridiculous software dependencies. Now I 'just' have to set the hostname, and configure httpd, smbd and sshd. (I'm so l337, I speak in words ending in d all the time.) Aaargh. Computers do my head in. If I'd known I'd get an 'A' at A-level English Language I would have gone into journalism instead.
Random music question; anybody know much about drum machines/sequencers? Specifically those used for natural-sounding performances. I'm hoping there's something that can generate MIDI output with minimum effort but maximum scope for customisation, ie. semi-automated. I can do percussion on my keyboard but then I have to quantise and offset all the notes and it gets a bit boring. And if I do it in a step sequencer I have to go the other way and randomise/humanise everything.
I went out last night - good music was played - I came home. While I was there, one person complained that the DJ wasn't playing enough requests, leaving people bored for too long. Today, one person complained that the DJ played too many requests, leading to the 'mainstream' people getting bored at the obscure music and leaving. I personally think he did a fine job. You just have to accept that not everybody in the room is going to love every track every time they go, nor is everybody going to get every request played. I think people round here are a bit spoiled for choice though, and have unrealistic expectations.
