(no subject)

Latest twist in the postal saga: my package arrived today. The woman downstairs signed for it, apparently, but made no mention of having to pay any fee. Said fee is marked on the package but there is no sign of anyone having paid it. Bizarre.

I asked my 'good friends' at PostWatch if they had an opinion on ParcelForce's 'clearance fees', and was told that they 'could not provide' me with that information. Hmmm.

Metal Festivals

Ragnarok festival just got cancelled, due to low ticket sales. Not surprising, given that it was going to be up in Perth, and that we already had 2 Bloodstocks in the UK this year, and a reasonable Download lineup for those who don't mind paying through the nose.

Yet looking at the bands on the Ragnarok bill: Gamma Ray, Doro, Korpiklaani, Dream Evil, Kalmah, Charon, Elvenking, SuidAkrA... it would have outclassed Bloodstock. Now we don't get to see those bands this year, and instead had rather too many unsigned ones at the two Bloodstocks. What's going on? Are we spreading these events too thinly?
