Latest twist in the postal saga: my package arrived today. The woman downstairs signed for it, apparently, but made no mention of having to pay any fee. Said fee is marked on the package but there is no sign of anyone having paid it. Bizarre.

I asked my 'good friends' at PostWatch if they had an opinion on ParcelForce's 'clearance fees', and was told that they 'could not provide' me with that information. Hmmm.

I've had a package with charges written on it that I never paid. Hopefully that will be the end of it!

I'm a little bit worried that the old lady downstairs paid for it! If Parcelforce turn up later asking for the money they can try and pry it from my cold dead fingers. I'll send a cheque to Customs and Excise if they need it but Parcelforce are certainly getting nothing off me now!
