Paradise Lost were good, though spoiled a little by 3 factors - the vocals being too quiet, the Opeth crowd not knowing any of the songs, and singer Nick being a bit of a cock, not bothering with the last few words of some songs and once or twice walking off stage before the song had even ended. Grr. Can't argue with the setlist though, which was very well rounded - nothing off Host or Believe In Nothing though.
Opeth were boring. I tried to enjoy them and tried to remember how I felt when I saw them in the same venue 3 and a half years ago. But it wasn't working. The newer songs aren't particularly amazing, Mikael spends far too long talking between songs (although to be fair, even if he didn't they probably wouldn't have time to play another track), and the band are dead on stage. The 3 guitarists all had wireless systems for their guitars, but they were largely pointless since not one of them moved off the spot until track 5. I can't get into the excessive acoustic sections live either, especially when they sound so much worse when not done on proper acoustic guitars.
