This eve, we gather the fyrd. The best Saxon men - yea, and women - of Snotengaham shall gather and march north to meet an invading Norse band tonight in the old Briton kingdom of Elmet. Scouts tell us the Northmen will try to reach Londene and can be there as early as tomorrow nightfall. Therefore we shall try to block their path, by riding west of Loidis, to the hills above the fine Church which stands by the broad ford. There, fates will be settled.
