bits and pieces
Sep. 4th, 2007 01:09 pmSuccess! Fopp, in its newly re-opened state, was the only place in town to have the new Amorphis album, and I liberated it from their barely-profitable fingers mere minutes ago. I also have Mael Mórdha and Shape Of Despair cds coming from Amazon Marketplace. I'm really scraping the bottom of the Needed-CDs barrel now, though.
I had a dream last night which was partly about encountering Paradise Lost walking up the road near my house at about 7pm one night, and me insisting that they were supposed to be playing a gig in town at 8pm. They retorted that they had already played a gig today, and for some reason I'd missed it.
I don't know if it was the same dream or a different one, but shortly afterwards I was sneaking around a mansion of some sort, trying to avoid capture. I had a friend who I was working with, some sort of female wizard type, but I remember her attacking me at some point. Too much playing Thief 3, I think. And too much misogyny.
I mocked a work colleague's attire today, as the previously normal-looking young man came in wearing a Sabbat t-shirt. I pointed out that I was getting bored of seeing them. Apparently it's his cousin's band. And he designed the graphic on the front. I certainly know how to impress people. Definitely another case of small world syndrome, though.
And what kind of world is it, where the guitarist from Dragonforce can go up on stage with Tool? Mad, I tell you.
In personal productivity news, I've recorded bass and drums for my latest track, but a good guitar sound eludes me. If I simulate the kind of amp the professionals use, it sounds crap, but if I use an artificial one, it sounds fine. Odd. Oh well, I'll work something out.
