Saturday's thoughts
May. 17th, 2008 04:52 pmIt transpires that having a hangover brings back some of those nerve pain symptoms I get on my head. Ouchie. All gone now though. And to those who would argue that this is just telling me to not drink so much - yeah, you're right. It took me about 10 minutes of thinking this morning before I could work out how I even got home. I was worried for a while that someone had escorted me back. I remember cutting short a conversation with Holly because I was too incoherent to think properly (sorry!) and sending a blank text message to Lisa because I couldn't work my phone effectively. Aaargh.
A man with long hair has moved into one of the other flats in the house. He even has a very similar coat to me. This is, of course, no good. I may have to dye my hair purple to maintain my uniqueness.
In other house news, I rather bizarrely happened across the video weblog of a guy who used to live in the flat adjacent to mine. It isn't very interesting, mostly him talking about how unfunny he is, and how his hair gel burns like a candle when you set fire to it, and how he got sent a keyboard rather than a webcam when he ordered it. This somewhat mundane and indeed unremarkable-looking man had a quite attractive girlfriend though, so how does that work? There's no justice in the world.
I went to town to buy a new camera today, and ran into Belgian Rich, a person I've not seen for maybe 6 months or more. Unfortunately, even just saying hello and goodbye were arduous tasks. I am finding it harder and harder to string coherent sentences together, often trying to say 2 synonyms simultaneously and ending up sounding like a moron. It's not much fun.
Anyway, I did get the Canon IXUS 80 IS since it seems to meet most of my criteria. (Thanks to Richard, Spike, Holly, and everybody else who posted advice of some sort.) However, I did pay £30 more than I needed to because the cheaper shop only had the pink model. Was this a mad decision on my part? Vain? I don't know.
Tonight, I'm off to Leeds with several friends and acquaintances to heckle Spike as he DJs 'metal' at the WendyHouse. It should be good to get out of Nottingham for a change, and it's been almost 5 years since I was last in Leeds.
