I got an email from gak.co.uk this morning, saying that my order had been cancelled because I'd asked them to ship it to a different address to that which is on my debit card. Why did it take them a whole working day after accepting the order to work that out? It should have expected it to arrive that day, not to finally get notice that my order isn't even going through. Checking addresses is instant and can be done on the computer at the time the order is submitted. Leaving it until a day later is simply either laziness or incompetence.

And at lunch time, I went to the guitar shop to try out a new guitar. After waiting 5 minutes for someone to be free to serve me, I tried it and discovered several problems. Firstly, that it's been set up so poorly that it's awful to play. Secondly, that 2 of the 3 volume dials were damaged - one seemed to be rubbing against something so it wouldn't turn as smoothly as it should, while the other one was loose and springy at the edges where it's supposed to come to a solid halt. After trying to persevere with it set up like cheese wire, I took it back to the shop floor to ask someone about these issues. But the only 2 people in the shop were both busy with other customers for the 10 minutes I stood there waiting. So in the end I just hung the thing back up and walked out.

Is there no shop, real or virtual, which is not shit?
