jobs/music/msn
Feb. 8th, 2005 08:47 pmLooking through the online job sites, I believe I have more chance of making a living through being an international rock star than in getting a decent computer programming job when I finish this course. (Aside: I wish these places wouldn't treat 'The Midlands' as one place for the purposes of their searches. It's not practical or pleasant to commute from one side of Nottingham in the East Midlands to Wolverhampton or Leamington Spa in the West Midlands.) And as for the possibility of getting relevant part-time work in the near future, well that's pretty remote also. This is mildly disappointing as I was hoping to buy some luxuries later in life, such as non-economy food, or to go wild by buying more than 3 cds a year.
On a totally different note, I am possibly the only person I know who didn't see Rammstein or Megadeth over the last few days and isn't going to see Nine Inch Nails either. Horribly overrated, all three. I might have gone to see Megadeth for a laugh, but with the admission price at £16.50 the joke would have been on me.
And it would be pleasant if MSN Messenger stopped being so unreliable. Tonight was the second time this year that it's died completely for hours at a time. It's a shame few people use Yahoo, AIM, or ICQ these days, as they seem to fail less often. On a similar note, Livejournal has been pretty crap for me recently, forever giving me a 'technical problems' page. Obviously, these technical problems are never mentioned on their support or status pages. I am probably just being paranoid, but it seems like the LJ issues coincided with Livejournal being sold a little while back.
