This will be the first of several updates over the next few days chronicling what's been going on with me these last few weeks. Updates should be back to normal by next week, I think.
Firstly, housing. On August 1st, two weeks ago today, I moved out of my temporary abode in Beeston and across to the new dwelling. It's a bedsit in a very large shared house near the city centre, just a short walk from an area affectionately known to some of my acquaintances as 'the Whore Tour', due to the, er, female street traders in the area. The place itself is quite good, with most bills included, and it's within 10m walking distance of town, the supermarket, and all the various socialising areas, so it's not too bad. As a bonus, I am within about 100m of an authorised BC Rich dealer! Ace.
I have no internet there yet however; that should follow on Saturday, NTL permitting. I . ;)really, really wanted to have a BT line and ADSL this time, but they were going to charge me £129 (about $244, US people) for installation, effectively doubling the line rental if I was going to be there for only 12 months, making it too costly for me to be able to justify. Oh well. Without internet access I have generally been going mad, although it has allowed me a bit of time to play Oblivion at last (more on that later), finish reading both my Physics and my introduction to Anthropology book, and sort out a load of paperwork that's needed doing for a while.
Due to it being a small one-person apartment, there will be no housewarming party, though selected individuals may be invited round on an ad-hoc basis!
