Interesting weekend. Yesterday afternoon there was a burly and bald guy ringing the intercom on everybody's flat, and loitering menacingly outside the gate for the best part of 2 hours. Nobody seemed to want to let him in, so he just lurked there. Eventually one of the other residents let him in while leaving, so this guy entered the building and came upstairs, where he proceeded to knock quietly but insistently upon the door of the adjacent flat. After about 3 or 4 minutes of that, the girl who lives there, who I thought hadn't been in, told him to go away. This he did, stopping only to throw what looked like a gift or some flowers in the bin on the way out. Aww. Still, I'm rather wary of people loitering outside houses trying to gain access these days; I can reasonably blame my burglar-watching and bailiff-dodging escapades of the last couple of years for that.

I went out with Hannah and Jos last night, and many random people seemed to be out and about, starting with Nick, Holly, and Danni in the pub. Then when we got to the club I was virtually assaulted by people I know, Allan to the left of me, Eden in front of me, Laura to the right, Kirsty accosting me upstairs, Anja in the other room, Liam asking where Danni was, etc.

That could have been a positively tagtastic paragraph, but I'll spare you all.

Allan and I also derived a disproportionate amount of amusement at one point by teaming up to propel someone across the dancefloor into one of his cronies, leaving both of them sprawling on the floor some distance away. We don't normally do such things, but they were being annoying, and it was the only solution. (Yes, I did just edit this paragraph after being reminded by Allan that we took 2 out with one go. Ace.)

I picked up a copy of Terrorizer magazine the other day, mainly for the cover cd. As usual most of it is utter tripe, but the Shadows Fall song is good, the Machine Head song is good, and the Dark Tranquillity track is a great return to the 'Projector' era by the sounds of it. The Annihilator track is immensely funny by virtue of sounding nothing like I would expect Annihilator to sound like, instead sounding like a worse version of the Shadows Fall track, with 80s guitar tone and a poorer mix added in. The Saxon track on there is considerably more aggressive.

On a related note, I disturbed myself this weekend by being able to guess who produced/mixed an album after only hearing about 40 seconds of it. I'm turning into some sort of metal-audiophile-geek.

Today I'm eating my first yoghurt in about 14 years. I recently read that they are low in lactose so hopefully won't have much negative effect on me, but we'll see. I'm sure they're smaller than they used to be. And why is it so hard to find any yoghurt that isn't "low fat" or "fat free"? Not to mention that there's so much bacteria in these little pots that I'm surprised they're not classified as biological weaponry.
