Jul. 20th, 2007 11:03 amLast night's rain was immense. But where does it all come from? How come there is so much precipitation around? The only reason England is renouned for having so much rain is because we tend to get lots of light rain, whereas other places like the USA tend to have smaller amounts of heavy rain. But we seem to have had consistently heavy rain almost every day for the last 4 weeks now. It's unprecedented in my memory. And it's getting a little boring, too!
I managed to fit my replacement CPU cooler last week, after much ado involving displaced thermal paste, which is awkward to apply in the first place. I hate computers. Still, it's all up and working now, and quiet enough for most things. Now to buy extra shiny bits for it - next up is a MIDI controller I think. I'd love to buy one from Millennium Music because they're local, but as with any time I want music-related software or hardware, their selection is so poor that I have to order online from somewhere else instead. Then I'll get the 'Drumkits from Hell Superior' software, whichalso is unavailable from that particular outlet. Grr. they seem to have finally ordered in, over the last few days.
Tonight, assuming that I don't drown in a flash flood, I'll be 'rocking out' with the usual crew at the Full Metal Racket night, though I will probably play a bit of Thief 3 beforehand. Zombie infested galleon? Why not, I say. And late on Sunday we have a 'band' (probably just me and Allan) practice, which will consist of me spending an hour getting my Pod XT Live to work with a 20 year old Marshall stack, before completely failing to play any of our songs because we've all forgotten them. Ace.
