It is done
Apr. 24th, 2007 09:19 pmTrack 10 - 192kbps MP3, 14MB in size, 9:45 in duration.
I've worked on no other song but this for 4 months, have worked on rough demos of part of this for nearer 12 months, and some motifs within it date back a to few weeks more than 4 years ago. It's been not just a labour of love, but a labour of hate, and many intermediate emotions such as apathy, irritation, frustration, and indeed fear when I thought that Sonar had trashed the saved version just 30 minutes ago.
There are still no vocals; I reluctantly turned down the talented-but-ill-suited girl that applied recently, and another attempt to do them myself revealed me to sound equally inappropriate. Vocalist still sought, then.
As usual, I'd like to hear opinions on any aspect that interests you. Personally I'm torn between thinking this is great and thinking it's crap, but there you go. What I think of it is not as important as the fact that I can now move on, not to Track 11, but to 11, 12, 13, and however many more I have. I thought that dedicating my efforts to finishing one song at a time would make sure it gets done, but over the course of the last 3 I've realised this isn't the case. I'm not naturally creative, so I need to let what little creativity I do have flow freely by working on whichever song appeals to me at any given time, and try to get back into the productive flow that I had in the past.
